How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris will guest star in the highly anticipated series Dexter: Resurrection as a mysterious character.

The cast of Dexter: Resurrection, the new sequel series from Paramount+ set in the universe of the famous serial killer played by Michael C. Hall, continues to add new additions. Following the recent hiring of Krysten Ritter as Mia Lapierre, a renowned sommelier with a secret alter ego, Deadline has announced that How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris has officially joined the cast of the show as a guest star, playing a mysterious character named Lowell.

Composed of ten episodes, Dexter: Resurrection the series will pick up exactly from the epilogue of Dexter: New Blood, in which the serial killer is killed by the hand of his son. Of course, the protagonist will survive and the new episodes will reveal how. Peter Dinklage will play the billionaire Leon Prater. Leon is a generous philanthropist to the world, but behind his refined appearance lies dark intrigue.

The cast will also include David Zayas, James Remar and Jack Alcott, who reprised their roles as detective Angel Batista, Harry Morgan and Harrison Morgan, and the other new entry Uma Thurman who will play the role of Charley, Leon Prater's head of security. The series will be produced by showrunner Clyde Phillips and Michael C. Hall, Scott Reynolds, Tony Hernandez and Lilly Burns. Monica Raymund and Marcos Siega will direct. The debut on Paramount+ is scheduled for this summer.
