Nothing is impossible, but at the moment the doors are closed.
After the release of John Wick 4, Lionsgate wasted no time in officially announcing John Wick 5. However, from the beginning, many fans had doubts about the possibility of a sequel, considering the ending of the fourth chapter. Now, Keanu Reeves himself has clarified the situation, confirming that at the moment there is nothing in the works.
Currently, Reeves is busy promoting Visionaries, a docuseries in collaboration with Gard Hollinger, with whom he founded ARCH Motorcycle in 2011. During an interview with Extra TV, he was inevitably asked about the future of the franchise, and his answer was rather clear: “There is a version called Ballerina, set in the John Wick universe, in which I make a brief appearance. Other than that, I have no idea.”
But the real turning point came when he was asked if he would like to play the character again: “John Wick is dead. He died in John Wick 4. I know what can happen in Hollywood, but right now there is nothing.” With these words, Reeves has put an end to the possibility of John Wick 5, at least for now.

John Wick 5: is the future of the saga really over?
The only glimmer of hope for fans of the character is represented by Ballerina, the spin-off that will see Ana de Armas as the protagonist and in which Reeves will make a brief appearance. The film will be released in June and will offer fans the opportunity to see John Wick in action again, perhaps for the last time.
Already at the end of last year, the actor had expressed mixed feelings about the idea of a fifth film, saying that his heart told him to do it, while his knees told him to stop. Now, Reeves seems more realistic, stressing that there are currently no plans for a sequel. However, this does not mean that the John Wick narrative universe is destined to end definitively.
In fact, Donnie Yen has long been working on a spin-off dedicated to Caine, his character introduced in John Wick 4. This confirms that the legacy of the John Wick universe will continue to expand, even if without its historical protagonist.
